   Strange murder in Church of the Holy Sepulchre of a priest, Father Xavier (with odd knife: black horn hilt and blackened metal blade)... no flames in church or outside, bizarre bugs (that become normal after crushing) with a defiled Altar and holy water fount (corroded). Secret panels floor, ceiling hide both a leaden box and an evil book (bound in the skin of a child)

Ferrel picks up strange vibes all around (as does Father Totani) even about that stranger passing through (Ashton Belmont). Some quick Occult research:

   Henry -drunk again- is chastised by Chavez and she threatens to cut his hair next time he is found drunk (he grieves for long dead Emily and the old days). "Bob Parkins" Chief Blackhawk wimps out on haircut threat, but Henry believes her.... later than night he begins a dance to Coyote. Chavez sees the fire (open land, safely done) and rides there to see Henry dancing to the spirits, JR hearing the radio rides out in his truck - its powerful beams illuming the night... Henry refuses to cease dancing when threatened by Chavez (Henry says:"You went too far.. it is too late now!") so she aims and shoots him!

Henry's leg is hit for a good solid shot; Shocking Spencer who was just letting him dance. Spencer has him rushed to the hospital in Mayetta - where he dies hours later - from his internal bleeding, from an injury too close to major vein - and he was an old sad man with a broken heart.

  Chavez is indicted for Manslaughter I (Federal rap on reservation) by April - Jury trial in September (8 white, 2 black, 2 Native American) will have her convicted despite her "Self Defense versus Spell" legal defense. Interesting Religious Freedom issues will be raised. And JR will punch out an obnoxious reporter on camera and get counseling sessions for anger management.

   In July there will be happier times for JR in the Dodge City Rodeo on the Fourth of July - with friends (even various Slades & Coltranes) and family (to which the Slades & Coltranes probably count as well).

   And the Yakuza best Beware! JD & Corelli Live! (and are out for their blood!) Schemes to close down Chinatown and Little Tokyo - via the Health Dept, Fire Dept, INS etc (hefty bribes of various sorts are used to get cooperation). Raiding one bar produces odd results - a gun battle in which a crooked LA cop is outed. Early morning - a message to meet at 8 AM... JD gets there at 7 AM (wearing night vision goggles to play spot the coffee cup) There he gets a similar spiel from Sam Wilson - his usual case officer. JD is prepared with a sealed envelope with 3 conditions to give to higher ups/ #1 (who he seems to think is an old man in Cuba) for their perusal. Wilson seems amenable to the various points JD wants. Money is no problem, fake will with bequests easy - life insurance etc. JD begins to sound out Carlotta - and is relieved when she agrees...

  Now to the setup: explain any tears - "she is pregnant & has not told him yet, but the timing of the cruise says he might suspect..." also reason for video camera (last photo album for them really for they can never contact them again.... Days pass in preparation, then JD signs his new will.... stuck to page 5 a note "Corelli wouldn't sign up"

 Instead JD gives the sleeping Carlotta a kiss and exits.... time for a sneak to a San Diego bus station locker and one set of clean tools; then off to another locker at the train station then to an office supply store to finish New Papers & Mission documents - as Michael William - Military Attache on Official business.. he will leave the country for Thailand.

   (My dice love him at this point - JD isn't stopped at either end) There he begins to re-equip for a new trip....oddly enough, the weapons are the least used items.

The Temple of ??? Wat [an ancient tourist location]... dealing with thieves & pickpockets during the day; at night he stealths inside the temple where he once saw the golden pool to meditate and summon the Wheel of Time.
